MARION, Ind. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) was the lone Mid-South Conference team to score points on the first day of the NAIA Women's Track & Field Championship hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
The Patriots are tied for 17th after the first day with four points.
Alina Boshchuk tallied the points for the Patriots for her fifth-place finish in the 10,000 meters. She crossed the finish line in 35 minutes and 32.03 seconds.
Taylor (Ind.) leads the team standings with 16 points. MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) is second with 11 points.
Day two of the championship features the conclusion of the heptathlon, finals for the shot put, pole vault, triple jump, 5,000-meter racewalk, and the 4x800-meter relay.
The NAIA Women's Track & Field Championship continues through Friday, May 23.
