WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) captured its third straight Mid-South Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Monday at The James H. Taylor, II Stadium on the Campus of the University of the Cumberlands.
The Patriots scored 254 team points to win the championship, getting it done both indoors and outdoors this season.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished second with 198 points while Cumberland (Tenn.) ended in third with 157 points.
Cumberlands (Ky.) Mya Hines was named the MSC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year. Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Isabella Lehtinen was named MSC Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands' Bradley Sowder was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by his peers. Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) assistant, Alexia DeHaven, earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
The athletes of the year are selected based on total points earned during the championship.
Campbellsville (Ky.) finished fourth with 106 points, Georgetown (Ky.) was fifth with 21 points, Freed-Hardeman finished sixth with 11 points, and Bethel (Tenn.) rounded out the scoring with 8 points.
