BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Indiana Tech’s Rose Kaplan has been named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
Rose Kaplan – Indiana Tech – So. – 124 pounds – West Lafayette, Ind.
- Kaplan went 6-0 on the week and 4-0 at the Blue Hose Challenge, capturing the title in the 124-pound bracket.
- Two of her victories came against ranked opponents.
- Kaplan earned a 10-4 decision over Life’s (Ga.) Anna Krejsa (No. 10 at 124 pounds) in a dual.
- Kaplan pinned Katlyn Fields of Andrew in a dual.
- She opened the Blue Hose Challenge with back-to-back first-period pins.
- Kaplan picked up a 12-1 tech fall over Krejsa in the semifinals.
- She captured the title with a 3-0 decision over Iowa’s Cali Leng (No.4 in NCAA at 124 pounds).
- Kaplan earns her first weekly honor this season.
