Jones Named Mid-South Women’s Wrestler of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Indiana Tech’s Emma Jones has been named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

Emma Jones – Indiana Tech – R-Sr. – 145 pounds – Riverview, Fla.

Jones went 4-0 at the Battle of the Rockies Women’s Open, capturing the title in the 110-pound bracket.
Two of her four victories came against ranked opponents while earning two pins and two tech falls.
Jones opened her tournament with a pin of Providence’s (Mont.) Carlye Ana Boenau in the first period.
She then earned a 10-0 tech fall over Megan Morales of Providence.
Jones earned her second 10-0 tech fall against Providence’s Kayla Shota (No. 11 at 110 pounds).
She captured the title with a first-period pin of Paige Morales (No. 1 at 110 pounds) of Providence.
Jones earns her first weekly honor this season.
