McBride, Rittenhouse Earn Mid-South Conference Baseball Weekly Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-- Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Joe McBride and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Johnboy Rittenhouse are the Mid-South Conference Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States. 

MSC Baseball Player of the Week 
Johnboy Rittenhouse - Cumberlands (Ky.) - Sr. -Scottsville, VA. 
  • Rittenhouse batted .526 on the week to help No.8 Cumberlands go 6-0 on the week with wins over Midway University (Ky.), Kentucky State, and a series sweep against Cincinnati-Clermont (Ohio.).
  • Rittenhouse had two three-hit performances his best performance came against Cincinnati-Clearmont where he went three-for-four with three hits and five runs batted in. 
  • Rittenhouse final statline is 10-for-19, six doubles, one home run, 10 RBIs, six walks, and scored eight runs, and had an on-base percentage of .615 on the week. 
  • Rittenhouse earns his second weekly conference honors of the season. 

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Joe McBride - Campbellsville (Ky.) - Sr. - Everett, Wash.
  • McBride delivered a complete- game performance in the second game of the Cumberland (Tenn.) series.
  • McBride threw seven innings, struck out nine batters, allowed two hits, allowed zero walks, and allowed just one unearned run. 
  • McBride moves to 5-4 on the year with the win against Cumberland University. 
  • McBride earns his second weekly conference honors of the season.
