BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson's Mao Wong and Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Luis Cerejo are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Mao Wong – Lindsey Wilson – Jr. – Defender – Guayaquil, Ecuador
- Wong, a defender, headed the game-winner and insurance goals for the #7 Blue Raiders over #16 Marian (Ind.).
- The brace was Wong’s second and third career goals.
- Wong earns his first conference weekly honor of his career.
MSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Luis Cerejo – Cumberland – So. - Midfielder – Portugal
- Cerejo collected three total assists across two matches for the Phoenix last week.
- The midfielder sank a goal himself in Cumberland’s first win of the week against Bryan (Tenn.) before assisting both goals for the Phoenix in their victory over Oakland City.
- Cerejo earns his first weekly conference honor of his career.
