BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson's Michael Rempel and Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Philipp Schmidtke are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Rempel – Lindsey Wilson – Sr. - Defender – Asuncion, Paraguay
- Rempel contributed two assists for #12 Blue Raiders as they remained undefeated with a draw against #10 Indiana Wesleyan.
- Rempel assisted on Lindsey Wilson's game-tying goal against the Wildcats.
- In their 2-0 win over Lawrence Tech (Mich.), Rempel struck the insurance goal.
- He totaled six shots on the week and was instrumental for the Blue Raiders’ defense that held its opponents to just six shots and two shots on-goal.
- Rempel earns the first weekly conference honor of his career.
MSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Philipp Schmidtke – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Jr. – Forward – Gifhorn, Germany
- Schmidtke was pivotal in the Phoenix’s draw with #11 Bethel (Ind.), notching two goals in the 3-3 match.
- Schmidtke earns his second conference weekly honor of the season and third of his career.
