Cumberlands Sweeps Mid-South Conference Volleyball Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands' (Ky.) Savanah Jolly, Davey Slaughter, and Sara Zampedri are the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Sara Zampedri – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – Outside Hitter – Flero, Italy
  • Zampedri averaged 3.5 kills while helping the Patriots win all four of their matches during the Onset Tournament in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
  • She posted a pair of double-doubles during the week with 17 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2 win over Indiana Tech and 14 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Bethel (Ind.).
  • Zampedri finished the weekend with 49 kills, 40 digs, and six service aces.
  • She earns her first weekly honor this season and the eighth of her career.
 
MSC Volleyball Defender of the Week
Davey Slaughter – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – Defensive Specialist – Mount Juliet, Tenn.
  • Slaughter averaged 5.1 digs per set to help the Patriots to a perfect weekend.
  • She opened the season with a career-high 35 digs over Indiana Tech.
  • Slaughter also added double-digit digs in wins over West Virginia Tech and Bethel.
  • She added 17 assists and seven service aces to her weekend work.
  • Slaughter earns her first weekly honor this season and the first of her career.
 
MSC Volleyball Setter of the Week
Savanah Jolly – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Jr. – Setter – Louisville, Ky.
  • Jolly averaged 11.1 assists per set to help Cumberlands begin the season 4-0.
  • She posted 45 assists in wins over both West Virginia Tech and Bethel.
  • Jolly added 16 kills in the four matches with a .361 attacking percentage.
  • She added 39 digs and four service aces to her opening weekend.
  • She earns her first weekly honor this season and the first of her career.
