BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberland's (Tenn.) Kaleigh Glass and Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Petra Fernandez Garcia and Luiza Goncalves are the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week

Petra Fernandez Garcia – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Grad. – Outside Hitter – Buenos Aires, Argentina

§  Fernandez Garcia averaged four kills per set while hitting .314 in four Lindsey Wilson wins at the Roar and Raid Invitational.

§  She posted a season-high 21 kills in a 3-1 win over Loyola (La.).

§  Fernandez Garcia produced a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 win over Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.).

§  She earns her first weekly honor this season and of her career.

 

MSC Volleyball Defender of the Week

Kaleigh Glass – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Jr. – Libero – Surprise, Ariz.

§  Glass anchored the Phoenix back row during a perfect 4-0 opening weekend

§  She averaged 3.63 digs per set with 58 total digs.

§  She posted double-digit digs in all four matches, highlighted by 21 digs in a five-set win over Mount Mercy (Iowa) and 19 against Grace (Ind.).

§  Glass earns her first weekly honor this season and of her career.

 

MSC Volleyball Setter of the Week

Luiza Goncalves – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Sr. – Setter – Arapongas, Brazil

§  Goncalves averaged 10.3 assists per set to help Lindsey Wilson begin the season 4-0

§  She added 20 kills during the four games while posting a .472 attacking percentage.

§  Goncalves contributed 35 digs over the two days, including 12 digs in a win over Johnson -- which resulted in her first double-double of the season (36 assists - 12 digs).

§  She earns her first weekly honor this season and the fourth of her career.
