BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Victor Guzman has been named the Mid-South Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
 
Victor Guzman – Cumberland  (Tenn.) – Gr. – 149 pounds – Rock Island, Ill.

• Guzman went 5-0, capturing the 149-pound Gold Division title at the Lucha Open.
• He recorded one ranked win, two pins, one major decision, one tech fall, and one decision.
• Guzman opened his tournament with a 15-3 major decision over Huntingdon’s Hudson Andrews.
• He then pinned Tyler Garrett in the second period.
• Guzman advanced to the semifinals with a 22-6 tech fall over Jacob Sinn of Missouri Baptist.
• He pinned Kolton Malone (No. 10 in NAIA at 149) of Southern Oregon in the semifinals.
• In the finals, Guzman recorded an 11-3 decision over Brandon Higgins.
• He earns his first weekly honor this season.
