KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Indiana Tech's Rose Kaplan earned the NAIA Women’s Wrestler of the Week award after going 6-0 with three pins and one tech fall across dual competition on Nov. 15 and the Blue Hose Challenge on Nov. 16, while also picking up wins over nationally ranked opponents from both the NAIA and NCAA.
Kaplan opened the week by defeating No. 10 Anna Krejsa of Life (Ga.) in a 10-4 decision, then added a win by fall over Andrew College’s Katlyn Fields (2:43).
She continued her strong performance at the Blue Hose Challenge, where she went 4-0 and captured the 124-pound title. Kaplan recorded two quick pins, halting Rihanna Loomis (Allen) in 54 seconds and Kalayah Edwards (Emmanuel) in 1:57, before notching a 12-1 tech fall in a rematch with No. 10 Anna Krejsa.
Kaplan then closed out the event with a 3-0 decision in the championship bout over Iowa’s Cali Leng, ranked No. 4 in the NCAA.
