Five MSC Teams Ranked in NAIA Women’s Wrestling Coaches’ Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Five Mid-South Conference teams are ranked in the NAIA Women’s Wrestling Coaches’  Top 20 Poll.
 
Life (Ga.) sits atop the poll with 193 points. The Running Eagles have three wrestlers ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes. Ariana Martinex holds the top spot at 110 pounds, Zaynah McBryde holds the top spot at 138 pounds, while Latifah McBryde is first at 160 pounds. Life has nine other grapplers ranked in their weight classes.
 
Indiana Tech is also ranked in the top 5 at No. 5 with 130 points. Riley Dempewolf is the top-ranked wrestler at 207 pounds. Indiana Tech has an additional eight wrestlers ranked.
 
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) moved up two spots to No. 6. The Blue Raiders garnered 126 points in the poll. Lindsey Wilson has 10 wrestlers ranked, led by Hayeni Costa, who is ranked fourth at 207 pounds.
 
Cumberlands (Ky.) is the final MSC team in the top 10. The Patriots earned 116 points to be slotted eighth. Cumberlands has nine individuals ranked, led by Angelina Casteneda and Saiheron Preciado-Meza who are ranked fourth at 103 and 180 pounds, respectively.
 
 
Campbellsville (Ky.) is slotted 19th in the poll with 55 points. The Tigers have five wrestlers ranked, led by Gabriella Perez who is seventh at 145 pounds.
 
Lourdes (Ohio), Montreat (N.C.), and Rochester Christian (Mich.) are all mentioned in the receiving votes section of the poll. Lourdes garnered 20 points and has one individual ranked. Montreat earned 17 points and has three wrestlers ranked while Rochester Christian earned five points with one individual ranking.
 
Grand View (Iowa) is ranked second with 172 points, while William Penn (Iowa) is third with 165 points. Providence holds the fourth spot in the poll with 151 points.
