Cumberlands Holds at 10th, Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland (RV) in Latest NAIA Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the third straight poll, Cumberlands (Ky.) holds strong ranked tenth in the NAIA, while Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday.
 
The Patriots are ranked tenth after earning 367 points. Cumberlands has improve to 27-0 to be one the only undefeated team in the NAIA this season.  The Patriots 27-match win streak is the longest in program history and UC is 9-0 in conference play and leads the NAIA with a .307 attacking percentage.
 
The Blue Raiders earned 15 points to be mentioned in receiving votes.  Lindsey Wilson is 24-9 on the year with a 6-3 mark in conference play. The Blue Raiders are averaging 12.0 kills/set and 11.1 assists per set on the year.
 
Providence (Mont.) climbs atop the poll with 502 voting points, including 10 first place votes. Eastern Oregon is No. 2 in the poll with 490 voting points and eight first place votes  followed by No. 3 Northwestern (Iowa) (482), No. 4 Concordia (Neb.) (456), and No. 5 Corban (433).
 
Poll Methodology:
  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
  • The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
  • 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as “receiving votes.”
