BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After posting a pair of sweeps on the week Campbellsville's Elif Akcivi, Sophie Hill and Kati Vest have been selected the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Elif Akcivi – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Jr. – Outside Hitter – Ankara, Turkey
- Akcivi led the way for the Tigers recorded 23 kills, and 13 digs over the two wins.
- The junior collected 11 kills and seven digs in the 3-0 win over Brescia.
- Akcivi followed that up with 12 kills, averaging 4.00 k/s, to go along with six digs as Campbellsville knocked off (RV) Lindsey Wilson.
- Akcivi earns her first weekly honor this season and of her career.
MSC Volleyball Defender of the Week
Sophie Hill – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Jr. – Middle Blocker – DuQuoin, Ill.
- Hill notched 10 blocks, two digs, and nine kills on the week.
- The junior opened the week with seven blocks, avg. 2.33 b/s, in the sweep over Brescia.
- Hill followed that up with three blocks and six kills in the 3-0 sweep over Lindsey Wilson.
- Hill earns her third weekly honor this season and of her career.
MSC Volleyball Setter of the Week
Kati Vest – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Fr. – Setter – Elizabethtown, Ky.
- Vest tallied 53 assists, averaging 8.83 assists per set, to go along with 13 digs in the Campbellsville’s two wins.
- The freshman dished out 22 assists along with five digs and three kills as the Tigers tallied a 3-0 win over Brescia.
- She followed that up with 31 assists, 10.33 a/s, eight digs, and five kills in the sweep over Lindsey Wilson.
- Vest earns her second weekly honor this season and of her career.
