KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cumberlands (Ky.) freshman diver Aiden Crutchfield had an impressive debut for the Patriots, hitting national cuts on both boards at last week's Centre Diving Invite.
Crutchfield opened with a 212.92 on the 3-meter board to hit the national standard of 200 points. That score ranks second in Cumberlands' program history.
He followed with a 214.94 on 1-meter for his second national cut. Both marks are top in the NAIA this season. Crutchfield is the first Patriot to win the honor in program history.
NAIA Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week is a bi-weekly award presented on NAIA.org on Wednesdays, with two breaks. The first run of awards is Oct. 15, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, followed by Dec. 17, and then Jan. 21 and Feb. 4.
