COLUMBIA, Ky. - After being named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week earlier today, Max Gainey has earned NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week honors.
 
The wide receiver from Louisville, Kentucky, becomes the ninth Blue Raider in program history to record National Player of the Week status and the first since Davontaye Saunders on November 10, 2025.
 
In the win over Union Commonwealth (Ky.) on Saturday, Gainey caught nine passes for 230 while averaging 25.6 yards per catch. His 230 yards broke the program record by 15 yards. Gainey also tied the program record for receiving touchdowns in a game for the third time this season with three. His touchdowns totaled 24, 27, and 71 yards.
 
Gainey and the No. 12 Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday, hosting No. 9 Campbellsville (Ky.) in The Battle of Highway 55 at 1:30 p.m. CT at Parnell Family Stadium.
