Mid-South Conference Announces Football Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Campbellsville's (Ky.) Colin Fratus and Justyce Law and Cumberland's (Tenn.) Tyriq Edwards are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
 
MSC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Tyriq Edwards – Cumberland (Tenn.) – So. – Defensive Back – Douglas, Ga.
  • Edwards helped the Cumberland defensive unit score three times in a 49-21 win over visiting Pikeville (Ky.) on Saturday.
  • He recorded a 21-yard pick-six early in the second half to give the Phoenix a two-touchdown lead.
  • Edwards added two tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup in the win.
  • He is one of three players in the MSC with a defensive score and is tied for the conference lead with one interception this season.
  • Edwards earns his first weekly conference honor of the season.
 
MSC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Justyce Law – Campbellsville (Ky.) – So. – Quarterback – Nashville, Tenn.
  • Law was involved in five Campbellsville touchdowns in the Tigers' 80-10 win over Thomas (Ga.) on Saturday.
  • He completed 15-of-20 passes for 190 yards and ran for 31 yards in the win.
  • Law threw for three touchdowns of one, 11, and 32 yards and ran for a pair of scores from four and five yards.
  • He leads the MSC with 1,037 passing yards and 10 touchdown passes.
  • Law earns his third weekly conference honor of the season.
 
MSC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Colin Fratus – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Sr. – Kicker – Bowling Green, Ky.
  • Fratus scored 14 points in record-setting fashion in the Campbellsville win.
  • He connected on a 44-yard field goal and made a single-game program-record 11 extra points.
  • Fratus ranks third among Mid-South Conference kickers with 33 points this season. He ranks first in the conference with 24 PATs and third in the MCS with three field goals.
  • Fratus earns his first Mid-South Conference weekly honor of the season.
