BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands' (Ky.) Tion Garmon and Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Jadan Burns and Davontaye Saunders are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

MSC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Tion Garmon – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Jr. – Defensive Back – Albany, Ga.

• Garmon tallied six tackles, including one for a loss, to help the Patriots to a 41-28 win over Union Commonwealth (Ky.) last Thursday.
• He added an 89-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the first quarter to extend the Patriots' lead to two scores.
• Garmon also contributed a pass breakup in the victory.
• Garmon earns his first weekly conference honor of the season.

 
MSC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Davontaye Saunders – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Sr. – Running Back – Eminence, Ky.

• Saunders rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries in the Blue Raiders' 52-24 win over No. 23-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.).
• He averaged 17.7 yards per carry to move into second place all-time on the program's career rushing yards list.
• Saunders finished with a pair of 2-yard touchdowns and a 51-yard score to help No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson to the season-opening win.
• Saunders earns his first weekly conference honor of the season.

 
MSC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Jadan Burns – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – Punter/Kicker – Gadsden, Ala.

• Burns went 7-for-7 on extra point attempts and added a 37-yard field goal in Lindsey Wilson's win.
• He averaged 59.1 yards on seven kickoffs.
• Burns finished the game with 10 points
• Burns earns his first weekly conference honor of the season.
