BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Two Mid-South Conference teams are ranked in the latest Stadionic-NAIA National Selection Committee (NSC) Poll, NAIA officials announced Tuesday.
Campbellsville (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) are ranked for a second straight week in the NSC Poll.
The NSC Poll -- completed by the committee that selects and seeds the NAIA Football Championship Series -- replaced the coaches' top 25 midseason. The committee uses primary and secondary criteria to rank the top 15 teams. One of those criteria is rankings from the Area Ratings Committees (ARC), represented entirely by coaches throughout that area.
Lindsey Wilson (7-2) moved up two spots in the poll to No. 9. The Blue Raiders defeated Cumberland (Tenn.) 35-14 for their second straight win. Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, hosting Bethel (Tenn.) in Columbia.
Campbellsville (7-1) holds steady at No. 10 in the poll following a 51-7 win at Bethel last week. The Tigers -- who have won three straight games -- close out the regular season on Saturday at home against Georgetown (Ky.). Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. ET.
St. Thomas (Fla.) remains No. 1 in the poll, followed by College of Idaho and Benedictine (Kan.).
The Mid-South Conference is paired with The Sun Conference and the Appalachian Athletic Conference in the East ARC. St. Thomas is the top-rated team in the East, followed by Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville. Georgetown (Ky.) is No. 5 and Cumberlands (Ky.) is No. 7 in the East ARC.
The next NSC Poll is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10.
