BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) is the preseason favorite to win the 2026 Mid-South Conference volleyball regular-season title, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
The Patriots received 36 voting points from the conference coaches, including six of the seven first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
Cumberlands won the MSC regular season and tournament titles a season ago, en route to posting a program-record 36-1 record. The Patriots were perfect in the conference regular season with a 12-0 record.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is second in the preseason poll with 29 voting points and the final first-place vote. The Blue Raiders finished 2025 with a 29-11 record, including posting a 9-3 conference mark.
Campbellsville (Ky.) is just behind Lindsey Wilson with 28 voting points. The Tigers posted a 23-14 record last season, including an 8-4 conference record.
Cumberland (Tenn.) is fourth in the voting with 21 voting points, followed by Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) with 15 voting points, Bethel (Tenn.) with 11 voting points, and Georgetown (Ky.) with seven voting points.
The 2026 MSC women's volleyball season begins this weekend, with conference play beginning in mid-September.
