BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands’ Tavon Davis (Track) and Campbellsville’s David Young (Field) named the Mid-South Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
MSC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Tavon Davis – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Utica, MS – Jr. – Sprints
- Davis competed at the Raleigh Relays at NC State, winning the 400m and placing fourth in the 4x400.
- He ran a 45.75 400m to break his own school record, hit an A standard, and run the fastest time in the NAIA this season. Davis followed that performance anchoring the 4x400 to an A standard time of 3:10.56, the fastest time in the NAIA.
- This marks the second week in a row that Davis has earned MSC weekly honors.
MSC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
David Young – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Triple Jump
- Young won the triple jump at the Blue Raider Rumble with an A standard mark.
- He jumped 15.20m to comfortably win the triple jump.
- This marks the first weekly honors of the outdoor season for Young.
