BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s Kaiden Rodgers and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Jessica Cord are the Mid-South Conference Softball Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Softball Player of the Week
Kaiden Rodgers – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – Paducah, Ky.
- Rodgers recorded multiple hits in each of Lindsey Wilson’s three games against No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.).
- Rodgers posted a .545 batting average (6-for-11) with a .636 slugging percentage for the week.
- She was perfect defensively, recording 19 putouts and four assists across 23 chances between first and third base.
- Rodgers earns her first Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor of the season.
MSC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Jessica Cord – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – Prattville, Ala.
- Cord posted a 0.00 ERA across 12.2 innings in two starts against No. 16 Lindsey Wilson.
- She allowed no earned runs while striking out nine batters and giving up 11 hits.
- Cord threw a complete-game victory in the series finale, allowing just one run on five hits in a 2-1 win.
- She also pitched 5.2 innings in the opener without allowing an earned run.
- Cord earns her third weekly conference honor of the season.
