Life Leads NAIA Women's Wrestling Championship, Indiana Tech and Lindsey Wilson in the Top-10

WICHITA, Kansas -- Defending national champion Life (Ga.) leads the 2026 NAIA Women's Wrestling Championship following the first day of action at the Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Life amassed 112.5 team points and leads second-place Grand View (Ohio) by four points heading into tomorrow's final day. Life has eight wrestlers remaining in the championship, including a tournament-best seven in the winner's bracket.

Indiana Tech is fifth in the standings with 62 points, while Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is eighth with 55.5 points. Indiana Tech has five grapplers left in the tournament, including three in the winner's bracket, while Lindsey Wilson has five with two wrestlers still undefeated.

Cumberlands (Ky.) -- with two wrestlers remaining in the consolation bracket -- is 12th with 33 points, and Campbellsville -- with one wrestler remaining in the consolation bracket -- is 22nd with 13 points.

Georgetown (Ky.), Montreat (N.C.), Rio Grande (Ohio), and Rochester Christian (Mich.) all have completed their tournaments. Rochester Christian scored three points and is in 28th place, while Georgetown, Montreat, and Rio Grande did not score during the championship.

Life's Salyna Shotwell (117 pounds), Sarah Savidge (131), Olivia Mottley (131), Zaynah McBryde (138), Jamilah McBryde (145), Latifah McBryde (160), and Reka Busa (180) all remain in the winner's bracket and will wrestle in the semifinals on Saturday morning.

Indiana Tech's Zoey Haney (103), Rose Kaplan (124), and Bo Geibe (160), and Lindsey Wilson's Kamilah Brooks (124) and Kori Campbell (145) are also unbeaten with a semifinal date scheduled for tomorrow.

Saturday's morning session begins at 10 a.m. CT with the winner's bracket semifinals and the conclusion of the consolation bracket, including the third, fifth, and seventh place matches. The 10 national championship bouts are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.
