NAIA Women's Wrestling Championship Begins Today

WICHITA, Kansas -- The 2026 NAIA Women's Wrestling Championship begins today at the Heartland Credit Union Arena.

Fifty-three Mid-South Conference women's wrestling student-athletes are among the 210 participants who will compete over the next two days.

Defending National Champions Life (Ga.) leads the MSC with the maximum number of wrestlers allowed from a single institution, with 12. Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) second most from the MSC with 11, followed by Indiana Tech and Cumberlands (Ky.) with 10 each, Campbellsville (Ky.) with five, Montreat (N.C.) with two, and Georgetown (Ky.), Rio Grande (Ohio), and Rochester Christian (Mich.) with one each.

The Mid-South Conference boasts 12 grapplers seeded as one of the top four seeds in the 10 weight classes, including three No. 1 seeds -- all from Life.

In the 103-pound weight class, Campbellsville's Makennah Craft is the No. 2 seed, while Indiana Tech's Zoey Haney is the No. 3 seed. At 117, Life's Salyna Shotwell is seeded second, while at 124, Indiana Tech's Rose Kaplan is the No. 2 seed, and Lindsey Wilson's Kamilah Brooks is the No. 3 seed.

At 131, Life's Sarah Savidge is the top seed, and her teammate, Olivia Mottley, is seeded fourth. In the 138-pound weight class, Life's Zaynah McBryde is the No. 2 seed, while at 145, Life's Jamilah McBryde is seeded second, and Cumberlands' Genesis Gilmore is seeded fourth.

Life's Latifah McBryde (160 pounds) and Reka Busa (180) are both the top seeds in their respective weight classes.

The morning session each day begins at 10 a.m. CT. Today's evening session is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT, with the championship session at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.
