BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Adrian Ayala has been named the Mid-South Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
Adrian Ayala – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Gr. – 141 pounds – Naples, Fla.
- Ayala went 3-0, capturing the 141-pound title at the MSC Championship.
- Two of his three wins came against wrestlers ranked in the top six of the weight class.
- Ayala opened his tournament with a 15-0 tech fall over Lucas Hall of Midway (Ky.).
- He then defeated Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Nick Moore (No. 6 at 141) 6-0.
- Ayala captured the title with a 7-4 decision over Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Sammy Shires (No. 2 at 141).
- He was named the Deno White MSC Wrestler of the Tournament for his performance.
- He earns his second weekly honor this season.
