BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands’ Ishak Mekideche (Track) and Campbellsville University’s David Young (Field) named the Mid-South Conference Men's Track and Field Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
MSC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ishak Mekideche – Cumberlands (Ky.) – So. – Ouled Fayet, Algeria – Distance
- Mekideche clipped the national A standard in the 3000m run over the weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
- He ran an 8:17.82 for the A cut, marking the second-fastest 3K time in the NAIA this season.
MSC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
David Young– Campbellsville (Ky.) – Sr. –Long Jump
- Young hit the national B standard in the triple jump over the weekend at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
- He finished top-10 in a stacked field after a 14.53m leap.
