BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Life’s (Ga.) Salyna Shotwell has been named the Mid-South Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
Salyna Shotwell – Life (Ga.) – Sr. – 117 pounds – Puyallup, Wash.
- Shotwell went 4-0 at the NWCA/USMC National Duals.
- She recorded three pins and a decision while picking up a pair of ranked wins.
- Shotwell pinned Missouri Valley’s Zao Estrada in 1:48.
- She then needed just 50 seconds to pin Vanessa De La Cruz (No. 17) of Texas Wesleyan.
- Shotwell earned an 8-1 decision over William Penn’s (Iowa) Mia Palumbo.
- She picked up her second-ranked win with a pin of Joely Sltyer (No. 8) of Providence (Mont.) in 4:38.
- Shotwell earns her first weekly honor of the season.
