BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Celia Martin and Georgetown’s (Ky.) Kali Settle are the Mid-South Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Celia Martin – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Sr. - Goalkeeper – Sevilla, Spain
- Martin grabbed 11 saves in total for the Phoenix on the week, including eight saves in a tough loss to #11 Marian.
- She proved pivotal in the team’s 3-0 win over Siena Heights, snagging three shots from finding the goal.
- Martin earns the first weekly honor of her career.
MSC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Kali Settle – Georgetown (Ky.) – So. - Midfielder – Mt. Sterling, Ky.
- Settle scored a goal in each of the Tigers' wins last week: a 2-0 win over Union Commonwealth and a 2-1 victory against Michigan-Dearborn.
- Her goal in the Union Commonwealth win proved to be the game-winner.
- Settle earns the first weekly honor of her career.
