Butpapaporn Sukterm has been voted the NAIA PING Player of the Year by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, the organization announced Monday.
The sophomore from Bang Yai, Thailand left her mark all over the Lindsey Wilson record books during the 2024-25 season and went on to win six tournaments while never finishing lowering than fifth place.
In postseason play, Sukterm won the Mid-South Conference Championship by five strokes, propelling Lindsey Wilson to its second straight title, then placed third at the NAIA National Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan in May. She set the program single-season stroke average record, – 71.46 – besting Krista Burton's previous mark by 3.11 strokes, as well as total rounds of par or better for a single season and career – 20.
Her four-round score of 288 at last month's national tournament is the best of all-time for the program, as she helped Lindsey Wilson to a second consecutive top-10 finish.
Along with the Mid-South Conference win, Sukterm and the Blue Raiders captured six tournament victories, which is the most since the 2009-10 season when Lindsey Wilson carded seven wins.
The WGCA also unveiled its 2025 All-America and All-Freshman Teams on Monday, slotting Sukterm a First-Team All-American and teammate
Pitchayapa Pungpho to the All-Freshman Team.
Pungpho, of Bangkok, Thailand, earned four top-five finishes during the 2024-25 campaign and was selected the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year.
