MOBILE, Ala. – No. 3-seeded Lindsey Wilson women's tennis saw its 2025 season come to a close on Friday morning, falling 4-0 to No. 2-seeded Georgia Gwinnett in the semifinals of the NAIA National Championships at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The Grizzlies (15-2) claimed the doubles point with victories at the top two courts. The action began at No. 1, where the No. 25-ranked duo of Justine Lespes and Isid Hernandez earned a 6-1 win over the nation's top-ranked pair, Heyka Rodriguez and Anastasiia Vorobiova. Soon after, No. 14-ranked Diana Ilie and Alexandra Melnikova clinched the point for Georgia Gwinnett with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 over No. 4-ranked Mayra Gisone and Anastasiia Ivanchenko. The No. 3 doubles match was left unfinished with the Blue Raiders trailing 3-5.

In singles, No. 23-ranked Hernandez extended the Grizzlies' lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 over Gisone. Elizabet Verizova followed with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Rodriguez at No. 6, making it 3-0.

The clinching point came at the top of the lineup, where No. 3-ranked Lespes earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 7-ranked Aina Domingo Bernabeu, sealing the 4-0 result for the defending national champions and ending the Blue Raiders' run.

Lindsey Wilson wraps up the season with an 18-3 overall record and makes its 12th appearance in the NAIA semifinals, matching last year's postseason finish. The Blue Raiders reached the final four for a second straight year and will look to build upon another deep tournament run in 2026.
