BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Georgetown (Ky.) captured the 2025 Mid-South Conference Cheerleading Championship on Saturday at Studle Financial Arena in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
This year's competition was comprised of two rounds. The first round was a preliminary worth 25 percent of the overall championship score, while the second round was a finals round worth 75 percent of the total score.
The Tigers claim their fourth conference championship in the last five years, stretching back to the 2020-21 season. Georgetown (Ky.) finished with a total of 93.53 points to solidify the victory. With the championship, The Tigers earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships which will take place on March 28-29 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
As for the rest of the field, Cumberlands (Ky.) would finish runners-up with a total of 88.87 points. Midway (Ky.) would finish in third with 86.81 points, Cumberland (Tenn.) would finish fourth with 84.23 points. In fifth, Pikeville (Ky.) would finish with 83.79 points, Campbellsville (Ky.) would finish with 68.32 points. Rounding out the conference, Brescia (Ky.) would finish in seventh with 63.41 points, and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) would finish in eighth with 60.13 points.
After the competition, individual end of season awards were handed out, as Cumberlands’ (Ky.) own Maddy Burns earned Freshman of the Year honors. Ellie Price of Georgetown (Ky.) earned Cheerleader of the Year honors. Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Dylan Price earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors. Midway’s (Ky.) Ashley Freire earning Head Coach of the Year honors.
All-Conference teams were determined before the championships and voted on by conference coaches.
