LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the Mid-South Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship Friday at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
The Patriots scored 308 team points to win the championship.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished second with 154 points while Campbellsville (Ky.) ended in third with 134 points.
Cumberlands' Migel Steenwinkel was named the MSC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Mustapha Bopkin was named MSC Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands' Bradley Sowder was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by his peers for the second season in a row. His assistant, Derek White, earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
The athletes of the year are selected based on total points earned during the championship.
Cumberland (Tenn.) finished fourth with 88 points, Georgetown (Ky.) was fifth with 29 points and Bethel (Tenn.) rounded out the team standings with 15 points.
