Cumberlands, Lindsey Wilson Scores on Second Day of NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) is third, and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is 22nd following today's action at the 2026 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.

The Patriots scored in the 3,000-meter race walk and the heptathlon, while the Blue Raiders picked up points in the long jump. Six of 21 events have been completed through two days of the championship.

A trio of Patriots finished in the top eight in the race walk, tallying points. Tomas Mencel was the top Mid-South Conference student-athlete with a third-place finish. He scored six points after crossing the finish line in 11 minutes and 57.33 seconds.

Dillan Melchiore finished right behind Mencel in fourth place with a time of 12:06.17, while Lucien Beardsley ended in seventh place at 12:14.90. Melchiore earned five points, and Beardsley garnered two points.

Mark Lawin added five more points to Cumberlands' team total. He posted a fourth-place finish in the heptathlon after scoring 5,302 points.

Lindsey Wilson's Maxwell Wordui gave the Blue Raiders all four of their points after a fifth-place finish in the long jump. He posted a distance of 24 feet and 4.25 inches (7.42 meters).

All scoring student-athletes earn NAIA All-American honors.

The remaining events are scheduled to conclude on Saturday.
