LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the program's third straight Mid-South Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship today at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.

The Patriots tallied 340.5 team points to coast to the program's sixth conference title.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished second with 157.5 points and Campbellsville (Ky.) ended in third with 89 points. Cumberland (Tenn.) finished the championship in fourth with 85 points, followed by Georgetown's (Ky.) 50 points and Bethel's (Tenn.) 13 points.

Cumberlands boasts the most podiums during the one-day event with 31, including 13 first-place finishes, nine second-place finishes, and nine third-place finishes.

The top three finishers in each event earn All Mid-South Conference honors.

Five NAIA National Championship Qualifying Standards were set on Tuesday -- all by Cumberlands.

Three of the five came from the 3,000-meter race walk, while the final two A cuts were recorded in the 600 meters and the 4x400-meter relay.

Cumberlands' Lucien Beardsley's time of 12 minutes and 5.44 seconds, Tomas Mencel's time of 12:12.77, and Dillan Melchiore's time of 12:46.32 all bested the national standard.

In the 600m, Cumberlands' Tavon Davis recorded an A standard with a time of 1:18.23.

The final A standard came in the men's final race, as the Patriot quartet of Davis, Noah Kincade, Roy Miller, and Jermaine Thompson won the 4x400 in a time of 3:14.08.

Following the championship, Cumberlands' Mark Lawin was named MSC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year. He tallied 24 points during the championships.
Cumberlands' Bradley Sowder was selected by his peers as the MSC Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year. Lindsey Wilson's Alexia DeHaven was voted MSC Men's Indoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year.
