LOUISVILLE, Ky. Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the Mid-South Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Friday at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
The Patriots scored 256 team points to win the championship.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished second with 168 points while Cumberland (Tenn.) ended in third with 125 points.
Cumberland's (Tenn.) Praise Idamaduduwas named MSC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year for the second season in a row. Cumberlands' (Ky.) Sharon Jemeli and Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Hannah Reid earned Co-Freshman of the Year honors. Cumberland’s' Atsu Nyamadi was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by his peers while his assistant, Cecilia Francis earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
The athletes of the year are selected based on total points earned during the championship.
Campbellsville (Ky.) finished fourth with 99 points, and Georgetown (Ky.) was fifth with 29 points.
