BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Ty Buckley and Emaleigh Tarpley are the Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Emaleigh Tarpley – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Jr. – Forward – Manchester, Tenn.
- Tarpley recorded her fifth double-double of the year in Cumberland’s victory against the Life University (Ga.) Running Eagles.
- The junior had 15 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in the contest.
- Tarpley earns the second weekly honor of this season and for the third time of her career.
MSC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Ty Buckley – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Sr. – Guard – Meridian, Miss.
- Buckley scored 25 points for the Phoenix in their ten-point win over Life University (Ga.).
- She also added three rebounds and four steals.
- Buckley earns her second weekly conference honor this season and of her career.
