Cumberland’s Zalaya, Lindsey Wilson’s Ayella Nab Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland's (Tenn.) Eric Zalaya and Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Dominic Ayella are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Eric Zalaya – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Sr. – Goalkeeper – Barcelona, Spain
  • Zalaya put together a clean sheet to move past the Campbellsville Tigers in the MSC Tournament Quarterfinals, grabbing two saves.
  • Zalaya earns the third weekly honor of this season and the third of his career.
MSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Dominic Ayella – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – Forward – Uganda
  • Ayella’s brace (both goals within three minutes of one another) led Lindsey Wilson past Freed-Hardeman in the MSC Tournament Quarterfinals.
  • Ayella earns his second weekly conference honor this season and the fourth of his career.
