COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson defeated Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 2-1 in the Mid-South Conference quarterfinals at Parnell Family Stadium Thursday night. 
Dominic Ayella scored the only two Blue Raider goals on assists from 
Juliano Manfro and 
Denilson Macon. 
In the 9th minute, Lindsey Wilson had a chance to score as Ayella got deep into the box, but was called offside cancelling the Blue Raider goal. The defensive stand continued from both teams with neither goalie allowing a goal headed into the half. 
The Blue Raiders outshot the Lions 16-1 in the first half, registering seven shots on goal compared to Freed-Hardeman's one. 
Ayella opened the scoring in the 54th minute on an assist by Manfro to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 edge. Macon was able to get deep into the right side of the box, finding Ayella in the middle for a header goal to grow the lead to 2-0 in the 56th minute. Freed-Hardeman's Tyler Burns cuts the lead in half in the 72nd minute on an assist from Avery Flener to trail the Blue Raiders 2-1. Lindsey Wilson had a chance to score in the 73rd minute on a flick from Macon to 
Milan Diao, but was deemed offsides. 
LWU outshot FHU 22 to five, registering 12 shots on goal compared to the Lions three. Freed-Hardeman tallied two yellow cards, alongside the Blue Raiders one in the second half. 
Men's soccer will be back in action for a semifinal matchup at Bethel (Tenn.) next week. Time and date will be announced by conference officials.
