BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Whitney Hay and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Zaram Fredricks are the Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Zaram Fredricks – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – Center – Lagos, Nigeria
- Fredricks nabbed 17 rebounds (a career-high) and set the Patriots’ single-game blocks record (6) in her team’s win against #15 Oregon Tech.
- Her performance in Cumberlands’ win over Oregon Tech was her third double-double of the year.
- Fredricks earns her first weekly conference honor this season and of her career.
MSC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Whitney Hay – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Gr. – Forward – Eastview, Ky.
- Hay averaged 21 points per game while shooting 57.7% from the field across the Lady Tigers’ two victories on the week.
- The graduate student also grabbed 7.5 rebounds per game and matched her career-high in single-game points with 26.
- Hay earns the first weekly honor of this season and of her career.
