BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Four Mid-South Conference women's soccer teams make the 40-team field in the NAIA National Tournament, NAIA officials announced today with the release of the national tournament bracket.
Campbellsville (Ky.), Cumberland (Tenn.), Cumberlands (Ky.), and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) represent the MSC in the tournament that begins with the first round on Thursday, November 20, and the second round on Saturday, November 22, at campus sites nationwide.
The top 16 national seeds begin play in the tournament's second round. Sixteen teams play in the first round, with the winners playing a top-eight seed in the second round.
Cumberlands is the lone seeded MSC team at No. 13. The Patriots host Columbia (Mo.) in the second round in Williamsburg, Ky.
Cumberland begins its national tournament at No. 10-seed Truett McConnell (Ga.) in Cleveland, Georgia, while Lindsey Wilson is at No. 11 seed Southeastern (Fla.) in Lakeland, Florida. Both matches are in the second round.
Campbellsville -- the MSC Tournament champions -- open up the tournament in the first round. The Tigers face Xavier (La.) on Thursday in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The winner plays No. 2 seed William Carey (Miss.) in the second round on Saturday.
The 16 teams that emerge from the first weekend of play advance to the final site in Pensacola, Fla., from December 1 to 8.
