BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) remains the lone Mid-South Conference team ranked in the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Rating, NAIA officials announced on Thursday.
The Patriots slipped eight spots from their preseason rating to No. 19 this week. Cumberlands received 221 voting points from the national raters.
Cumberlands finished sixth at the season-opening Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational on Sept. 4, and 28th in the predominant NCAA field at the Southern Showcase on Sept. 18.
The Patriots return to action on Oct. 3 at the Great Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky.
Milligan (Tenn.) takes over the top spot in the rating with 545 voting points and 10 of the 20 first-place votes. Dordt (Iowa) is No. 2 with 544 voting points and six first-place votes, followed by College of Idaho with 531 voting points and three first-place votes.
The next regular-season rating is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8.
