BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Six Mid-South Conference women's tennis student-athletes have earned NAIA All-America Team honors, NAIA officials announced on Thursday.
Bethel's (Tenn.) Sofia Canto, Cumberlands' (Ky.) Marina Nagai, and Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Martina Cortal, Mayra Gisone, Mariangeles Mateu, and Javiera Verdugo earned the all-America teams honor.
Gisone earned first-team honors after helping Lindsey Wilson to a national runner-up finish during the season.
Nagai -- the MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Year -- Cortal, Mateu, and Verdugo all earned second-team honors, while Canto was named to the third-team.
The NAIA All-America Teams consist of 16 women on each of the first, second, and third teams. Conference Players of the Year not selected on the first three teams are automatically added to the third team. The teams are selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee.
Keiser's (Fla.) Violet Apisah received the Marvin P. Richmond Outstanding Player award, and Keiser's Daniel Finn was named NAIA National Coach of the Year.
