BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Three Mid-South Conference teams are ranked, and one more is just outside the poll in the NAIA Postseason Women’s Tennis Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Thursday.

Cumberland (Tenn.), Cumberlands (Ky.), and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) are all ranked, while Bethel (Tenn.) is in the receiving votes category.

Lindsey Wilson finished the season at No. 2 in the national poll after reaching the NAIA National Tournament finals. The Blue Raiders (17-2) received 174 voting points from the national raters following their national tournament run.

Cumberlands jumped six spots to No. 7 after reaching the national quarterfinals. The Patriots (17-5) received 138 voting points from the national raters.

Cumberland climbed seven spots in the final poll to No. 14. The Phoenix (11-10) reached the second round of the national tournament.

Bethel (11-11) is one of seven teams outside the top 25 yet still receiving votes. The Wildcats garnered seven points from the national raters.

Keiser ends the season at No. 1 with 180 voting points, including all 12 first-place votes after capturing the national title. Tennessee Wesleyan is No. 3 with 165 voting points, followed by William Carey (Miss.) at No. 4 with 164 voting points.

Poll Methodology

  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
  • The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
    • 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as "receiving votes."
  • For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
