BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) scored a perfect score en route to winning its fifth straight Mid-South Conference President’s Cup in 2025-26, conference officials announced on Friday.
The all-sports title is the Patriots' 13th all-time -- the most in the conference's history.
Cumberlands scored 10 points in 15 sports this season -- one more than can be used under the conference's format.
Points are awarded based on the final regular-season standings or the event championship -- in the case of no regular-season schedule -- for each conference-sanctioned sport. The regular-season champion or event champion in each sport receives 10 points, with second place receiving nine points, etc. The top seven male and top seven female team finishes for each institution generate the institution’s overall totals. For co-ed sports, points are awarded to the gender that benefits the most by the co-ed score.
Cumberlands also won both the men's and women's all-sports trophies, scoring the maximum 70 points in each gender.
The Patriots scored the maximum this season in archery, baseball, cheerleading, men's and women's cross country, women's golf, men's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's outdoor track & field, women's volleyball, and men's wrestling. Cumberlands also shared the esports title with Cumberland (Tenn.), earning 9.5 points.
Cumberlands has scored the maximum points in each of the last three academic years.
Lindsey Wilson finished second in the overall standings, as well as the men's and women's all-sports race. The Blue Raiders scored 132.5 points overall, tallying 66 points in the men's championships and 66.5 in the women's championships.
Lindsey Wilson posted 10s in football, men's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis, and women's wrestling. The Blue Raiders scored 9.5 points for a share of the women's soccer regular-season title.
Cumberland finished third overall with 120 points, followed by Campbellsville's (Ky.) 111.5 points. Bethel (Tenn.) and Georgetown (Ky.) tied for fifth with 97 points, and Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) ended in seventh with 89.5 points.
Cumberland scored 10 points in men's and women's bowling and 9.5 points in esports and women's soccer. Freed-Hardeman picked up 10 points for its men's basketball regular-season title and scored 9.5 points after sharing the women's basketball title with Bethel.
The Mid-South Conference President's Cup started in 1996-97. In addition to Cumberlands' 13 titles, Lindsey Wilson has captured the Cup 10 times, Georgetown has won it three times, Campbellsville has earned the Cup twice, and former full-time member Lambuth (Tenn.) shared the Cup with Georgetown in 1996-97. The MSC President's Cup was not awarded in 2019-20 due to COVID-19.
President's Cup points are reserved for full conference members only who compete in conference championship sports. President's Cup points are not given to emerging sports in the MSC.
