BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The 2026 Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament is down to its final two teams after two teams were eliminated today at Bowling Green Ballpark. No. 3-seed Cumberland (Tenn.) and No.1-seed Cumberlands' (Ky.) will face off in the championship game scheduled for noon tomorrow. The if necessary game will be at 3:30 P.M. ct.
3) Cumberland (Tenn.) def. 6) Bethel - 10-8
No. 3-seed Cumberland (Tenn.) remained unbeaten and advanced to the Mid-South Conference Championship game with a 10-8, 10-inning win over No. 6-seed Bethel (Tenn.) in the first game of the day.
The Phoenix (26-25) answered a late Bethel rally, scoring twice in the 10th on a go-ahead two-run single from Wilser Then to secure the victory.
Cal Royer led Cumberland at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI, including a three-run shot in the seventh that gave the Phoenix the lead. Then added two RBI, while Aidan McDonald recorded two hits and an RBI.
Bethel jumped ahead early scoring two in the third and two and the fifth for a 4-0 lead. Royer belted his first home run of the day to cut the deficit in half at 4-2. CJ Lattimore drove in a run in the fifth for the Wildcats to bring it back to a three-run lead through six.
Cumberland jumped out for five runs in the sixth with the big three run home run for Royer, his second of the game. The Phoenix added one run in the top of the ninth to take a 8-5 lead.
Bethel forced extras with a three-run ninth inning, highlighted by a two-run double from Cade Pilkinton. With the winning run at third in the inning, Yuito Suzuki preserved the tie with a full-extension diving stop at shortstop to end the threat.
Kyle Nyblod earned the win in relief, striking out three over two scoreless innings, including striking out the side in the 10th to seal the win.
Cumberland advances to Saturday’s championship game.

No. 1-seed Cumberlands (Ky.) stayed alive in the Mid-South Conference Tournament with a 13-6 win over No. 5-seed Campbellsville (Ky.) in an elimination game.
The Tigers tournament run comes to an end with the loss.
The Patriots (43-8) used a pair of big innings early, scoring four runs in the second and five in the third to build the lead.
Campbellsville, however, clawed back with a run in the fifth and two in the sixth, but the Patriots added two more in the eighth and one in the ninth to put the game away.
Pedro Vasquez led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI while scoring four times. Justin Veloz added two hits and three RBI, and Ronald Almanzar drove in two runs as Cumberlands totaled 13 runs on 10 hits and capitalized on eight Tiger walks with seven hit batters.
Campbellsville (26-23) recorded 13 hits in the loss, with Brady Henke and Kleysen Gabruck each collecting two hits.
Nolan Wilson earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs over five innings, while JD Price closed out the final four innings to seal the win and advance to take on Bethel in an elimination game later in the night.

No. 1-seed Cumberlands (Ky.) won their second game of the day and advanced to the Mid-South Conference Championship game with a dominant 12-2 win over No. 6-seed Bethel (Tenn.) in an elimination game Friday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The Patriots (44-8) used a pair of big innings early plating four runs in the second and adding another four in the fourth to build a comfortable lead.
Cumberlands totaled 12 runs on 16 hits, led by Justin Veloz, who went 3-for-6 with two RBI. Caden Petrey added three hits and two RBI, while Pedro Vasquez finished 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI. Clay Shelton also drove in four runs as part of the offensive surge.
On the mound, Mason Howard delivered a strong outing out of the bullpen, allowing just two runs on seven hits over the final seven innings to earn the win.
Bethel (14-30) was limited to two runs on nine hits, with Adriel Vega and Juan Diego Ramos each driving in a run. The Wildcats broke through with two runs in the fifth but could not generate further offense against the Patriots’ pitching staff.
Cumberlands added insurance late, including a sacrifice fly from Petrey in the ninth, to cap the scoring.
With the win, Cumberlands advances to the Mid-South Conference Championship game and will face No. 3-seed Cumberland (Tenn.) with the title on the line.
