Four Mid-South Conference Baseball Players Earn NAIA All-America Team Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- A quartet of Mid-South Conference baseball student-athletes have been named to the NAIA All-America Team, NAIA officials announced on Thursday.

Cumberlands' (Ky.) Ronald Almanzar, Derick Andiarena, Caden Petrey, and Pedro Vasquez are part of the three-team all-America teams.

Andiarena and Petrey were selected to the first team, Almanzar earns second-team honors, and Vasquez picks up third-team honors.

Andiarena -- the MSC Player of the Year -- led the Patriots with a .402 batting average. He recorded 19 home runs and 89 runs batted in. Petrey hit .349 during the season with 19 homers and 72 RBIs.

Andiarena is one of four first-team outfielders, while Petrey was the first-team shortstop.

Almanzar -- second-team utility -- hit .381 with a team-high 25 home runs and 81 RBIs, while Vasquez -- the third-team designated hitter -- recorded a .355 batting average with 17 homers and 52 RBIs.

The three all-America teams are selected by the NAIA All-America Committee.
