BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands’ Lea Kunstmann and Georgetown College’s Cynthia Austin were named the Mid-South Conference Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Lea Kunstmann – Cumberlands (Ky.) – So. – Freising Bavaria, Germany – Distance
- Kunstmann finished sixth overall in the 5K at the 2026 Wake Forest Invitational.
- She clocked a 17:11.87 against elite competition, ranking eighth in the NAIA this season and hitting the B standard.
- This marks Kunstmann’s first MSC weekly honors of the outdoor season.
MSC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Cynthia Austin – Georgetown (Ky.) – Fr. – Glasgow, KY – Jumps
- Austin competed in a pair of jumps at the Centre Twilight Invitational.
- She jumped 4.72m in the long jump for 12th and 10.00m in the triple jump for fifth.
- This marks Austin’s first MSC weekly honors of the outdoor season.
