ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Cumberlands (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) scored points on the first day of the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships on Wednesday at Karl Straus Track.

The Patriots are tied for third place, while the Blue Raiders are tied for sixth. Only three events were completed on the first day due to inclement weather, which postponed some of the night schedule.

Cumberlands' Abia Kante earned the Patriots eight points, while Lindsey Wilson's Rosemond Owusu tallied the Blue Raiders' six points. The two athletes finished second and third, respectively, in the women's long jump.

Kante finished with a distance of 20 feet and three inches (6.17 meters), while Owusu jumped 19-8 feet (5.99m).

Both athletes earned NAIA All-America Team honors for their finish. The top eight individuals and ties in each event earn All-America Team honors.

The second day of the championship is slated for Thursday at Karl Straus Track.
