BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson's (Ky.) Raul Safont has been named the Mid-South Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

Raul Safont – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Gr. – Castelló de la Plana, Spain

·       Safont recorded a 2-0 record in both singles and doubles last week while helping the Blue Raiders to two nationally-ranked wins.

·       He did not drop a set in wins over No. 15-ranked Marian (Ind.) and No. 24-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.) last week.

·       Both of his victories in singles clinched the respective matches for the Blue Raiders.

·       Safont improves to 8-1 overall in singles -- 4-0 in Mid-South play.

·       Safont earns his first weekly conference honor of the season.
