Cumberlands Extends Lead at MSC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships

2/6/2026 11:47:09 PM

DANVILLE, Ky. - Cumberlands (Ky.) extended its lead on the second day of the Mid-South Conference Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Champions Hall.

The Patriots enter Saturday's final day with 688 points. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is second with 467 points, and Indiana Wesleyan is third with 311 points.

Campbellsville (Ky.) is fourth with 230 points, followed by Shawnee State's (Ohio) 221 points and Midway's (Ky.) 172 points.

Cumberlands continued its impressive streak of winning each race contested at the 2026 championships, including all seven today. In all, the Patriots have produced 16 podiums -- eight golds, four silver, and four bronze finishes.

Lindsey Wilson has 12 podiums through two days -- eight silver and four bronze.

Individuals who win a race earn first-team all-Mid-South Conference, while second and third-place finishers also earn all-conference honors.

Friday produced five automatic cuts into the NAIA National Championships, four meet records, and one conference record.

Cumberlands' Fabrizio Pacioni broke his own conference record in the 400-yard IM with a time of three minutes and 53.57 seconds. The time -- which was good enough for an A cut -- was nearly two seconds faster than the time he set last November.

Lindsey Wilson's Sergio Ybarra's time of 3:58.95 in the 400 IM also bested the previous meet record.

Two A cuts were achieved in each of the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle. Cumberlands' winning time of 1:28.21 in the 200-yard medley relay not only earned a national cut, but it also set a new meet record.

The Patriots duplicated the feat in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Jeremiah Koenig, Fabrizio Pacioni, Arda Mutlu, and Titouan Bernot earned a national standard and a meet record with a time of 6:45.81.

The conference championship concludes on Saturday with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. ET and finals starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
